Despite the show's lowest-ever finale ratings, two people were taking the American Idol finale extremely seriously.
An argument between 48-year-old Karen Harrelson and 57-year-old Gregory Stambaugh (who accurately represent Idol's older-leaning majority demographic) led to both being stabbed in the midst of last week's finale, according to the York Dispatch.
The at-the-time dating duo, drunk, couldn't agree who deserved the title—Candice Glover or Kree Harrison. So, one of them solved this the only way they knew how: with a knife.
But no one's copping to starting it. According to their stories, one of them went in the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed the other. The person who was stabbed first took the knife and stabbed the other back. Each is claiming the other started it.
Both are in country prison for aggravated and simple assault charges with high bails. Hers is $30,000, his $70,000 because male Idol fans are considered to be way more dangerous than a female. (Actually, he was described at the scene as "argumentative," shouting how police "only arrest the guys.")
Why couldn't they just hug it out like Candice and Kree?
