While everyone was complaining about that grandma's-couch-inspired dress Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala with Kanye West, it turns out there was a reason behind it. Maybe.

Ricardo Tisci, the creative director at Givenchy (the brand behind the floral catastrophe, er, dress ), might have let the cat out of the bag in a recent interview with Women's Wear Daily. About the Gala and Kim's infamous gown, Tisci said, "I love Kim. Doing maternity was fantastic... She is the future wife of a really good friend of mine. I wanted to have a moment of family…Kim, Kanye and the baby."

Future wife? We missed that memo. Could that be the reason Tisci created those glove/sleeve things on the dress—to hide an engagement ring?

Whether or not there is a Kimye wedding in our future, at least her divorce to ex-husband Kris Humphries is finally settled. Otherwise we'd have to watch an E! special on Kim's polygamist life... and our TiVo is full.
