Grammy-Winning Collaborators The-Dream & Jay-Z Reunite on "High Art"
When Fuse previewed The-Dream's upcoming fifth album IV Play last month, we heard an early version of the monster bass jam "High Art." Now the final studio track is out with a show-stealing verse from Jay-Z, proving these Grammy-winning collaborators ("No Church In the Wild") belong together. Even if Jay doesn't approve of The-Dream's awards ceremony attire.
If you thought "High Art" would find either of them waxing philosophical about Joyce and Manet, well, we need to have a serious talk. The-Dream's intones the mildly-repetitive refrain, "I make love to my girls / I get high with my n—gas" over a trap inspired-beat that recalls E-40. Hova's verse is the king here, though. Dude did not phone this one in. Listen to it above and prepare for IV Play on 5/28.
