The National Admit Band Name is Meaningless on 'Colbert'
In addition to playing a string of tiny shows yesterday in Brooklyn and Manhattan, The National hit up The Colbert Report to help celebrate/promote the release of their sixth album Trouble Will Find Us.
They delivered the gently rockin' "Sea of Love" as well as the atmospheric "Graceless," while frontman Matt Berninger admitted to Stephen Colbert that the band's name is entirely pointless. "The name of our band was meant to mean nothing," Berninger said. Cool story, dude! Watch the interview above and performances below.
