2 Chainz Definitely Was Victim in Robbery
Bad weekend for 2 Chainz, who was robbed in San Francisco yesterday afternoon after an armed suspect fired a shot at his crew, Sergeant Dennis Toomer, a SFPD spokesperson, tells Fuse.
Nobody was injured, but the man behind Based on a T.R.U. Story was robbed of "a wallet, credit cards, U.S. currency and cell phone," Toomer confirmed.
"A group of six black males were walking on Howard Street when they were approached by a single suspect carrying a handgun," says Toomer. "The suspect fired one shot. Nobody was struck by the bullet. One of the men in the group of six, Tauheed Epps [2 Chainz' real name], fell to the ground. The suspect then approached that man and robbed him."
Toomer added that "none of the victims were being cooperative" and that the investigation is ongoing.
An Island Def Jam representative for the rapper declined to comment.
Conflicting reports emerged Monday after a SFPD representative mistakenly told select news outlets that a member of 2 Chainz' entourage and not the rapper himself was robbed. Fuse has confirmed that 2 Chainz was the sole victim of the robbery.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old with short, cropped hair and wearing a dark sweatshirt and jeans. Let the uniting of 2 Chainz fans to find this man begin.
