Avicii's '#TRUE' LP to Feature Nile Rodgers, Incubus Guitarist & 71-Year-Old Country Star
Avicii's crafted staples of the EDM scene—"Levels" or "Fade Into Darkness" anyone?—but he's curiously never released a full-length LP. But all that will change when he drops his first album #TRUE in September.
"This is about me being true to my sound," the 23-year-old Swedish producer/DJ told Billboard. "But also to my own influences and musical preferences."
Those preferences include #TRUE collaborators like Chic guitarist/Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rodgers, Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger, 71-year-old country legend Mac Davis, bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski, soul singer Aloe Blacc and more. Not your typical EDM, eh?
"Whoever loves it, loves what I love," he added. "It's what I stand for. This album consists 100% of songs I personally love. It's true to me, true to my brand, true to Avicii."
The record is led by the countrified-dance single "Wake Me Up," which premiered last week.
