The estate of Nina Simone is planning a biopic about the legendary blues songstress and hope to have Dr. Dre on board.

According to Billboard, the producers of the forthcoming doc have reached out to the hip hop heavyweight to compose the score.

Should Dre sign on to the project, he'll be in good company. It's being produced and developed by—an Academy Award-winning company who produced the George Harrison tribute doc Concert for George and Under African Skies about the creation of Paul Simon's 1986 Graceland LP.

Dr. Dre knows a thing or two about samples (just listen to "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" or "F-ck Wit Dre Day"). His production genius with Simone's unearthly vocals would be hip hop gold.

Jay-Z scored The Great Gatsby soundtrack this year. What say you, Dre?
