Liam Gallagher found some time between promoting the upcoming Beady Eye album and expletive laced rants about brother (Noel Gallagher) to throw out a few kind—and a few offensive—words towards One Direction lad, Harry Styles.
Mainly that Style's rock 'n' roll lifestyle is quite impressive…and his "music's sh-t."
In an interview with the Sun, the ex-Oasis frontman had this to say:
"You want your rock'n'roll stars to have a good time. When I see Harry out and about having it I think, 'Go on, lad'. The music's sh-t, but at least he's living it. It's equally as important as writing a good song."
Gallagher also said that he views Harry and his counterparts as Beady Eye's competition despite admitting to not knowing what 1D's songs even sound like.
How Liam can both not know what a One Direction song sounds like and know that the music is "sh-t" is beyond us. But the singer-songwriter also admitted that he really wouldn't know what any current band sounds like because he's sworn off listening to current music altogether.
“I don’t listen to any music at the moment," Gallagher said. "I don’t need music to inspire me.
“I’m inspired by life, know what I mean? If you’re living life, you’re inspired. Anyway, there’s nothing good out there, man. Oh, I’ll tell you what I like—that Bruno Mars song. The ballady one. That’s a f-cking good song, that.
Shut your eyes right now and imagine Liam Gallagher at a Bruno Mars concert. Now you can go back to that special place whenever you're feeling blue!
And if you, Harry, are feeling blue after that old Oasis dude made fun of your music, keep in mind that he recently went off on bona fide legends Daft Punk as well. He told the Sun on May 24th:
"I’d write that in a f-cking hour. I don’t know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean? It’s like f-ck off, give me a f-cking break."
So, there's that; you can thank me later.
