Kylie Minogue to Collaborate With Jay-Z on Her New Album
Back in February when it was announced that the very poppy popstar Kylie Minogue had signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, millions of pop and hip-hop fans cocked their heads. Now it seems that the signing was more than just business as usual.
NME is reporting that the "Can't Get You Out of My Head" singer is getting ready for a big musical collabo with her boss. Minogue has been working on new material since early 2012 for her follow-up to 2010's Aphrodite. And now HOVA is looking to help her out by combing over her new work with an eye for where he could best guest-star.
In May, the Australian songstress told Rolling Stone that she was working with Pharrell Williams on the LP—there is currently not set title or release date.
Meanwhile, Mr. Carter is also prepping for his upcoming release, Magna Carta Holy Grail, due out July 4th. Jay-Z started tongues wagging when he announced the release via an entire commercial break during the NBA finals.
Jay's new album is also part of a massive commercial deal with Samsung (natch, for the entrepreneurial mogul), which will put the album into the hands of one million Samsung Galaxy customers 72 hours before its official release. Billboard has since reported that the Samsung related sales will not count towards a platinum status for the album.
We wish both artists the best of luck on their upcoming releases.
And, yes, we realize that while this collab may seem shocking, in a post Miley Cyrus/Snoop Lion world anything is possible…
