Brace yourselves, lambs: Mariah Carey will no longer unleash The Art of Letting Go on July 23. The former Idol judge tweeted the album just isn't ready to enter the world on its scheduled release date.

"While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don't feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23," Carey wrote on Twitter. "I'd rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it's meant to be heard. When I'm ready, you'll be the first 2 know!"

So there you go. When she's ready to announce a new release date, her Twitter followers (i.e., the entire world) will be the first to know about it.
