We all got a laugh two weeks ago when Miguel went Hulk Hogan and decided, rather than simply sing "Adorn" at the Billboard Music Awards and drench countless panties, he would drop a leg on some poor fan's head and smash her face onto the stage.

But it was cool because Miguel did an interview with insta-meme victim Khyati Shah afterwards and everyone was laughing and telling jokes and all, "Hey, remember that time you almost paralyzed me? LOL ROTFL!"

Now it appears Shah has lawyered up, with her attorney telling TMZ his client may have suffered partial brain damage.

"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury," Vip Bhola told the site.

So how cynical do you want to get with this, guys? It's possible that Shah's injuries weren't immediate and only manifested themselves days after the incident. If that's the case, makes sense to seek some sort of punitive damages from either Billboard, Miguel or both.

But yeah, it's also possible that someone planted a bug in Shah's ear that Miguel, a probable millionaire, would much rather throw her some settlement money than risk a protracted, career-halting lawsuit.

"When you're performing and you're just into it, you never really know how it's going to go and where you're going to go with it," said Miguel afterwards, because "PLEASE DON'T SUE ME PRETTY PLEASE" would have been a little too crass at the time. "So this is one of the less favorable moments." Yes, Miguel. Yes, it is. We'll see if it gets worse.
