Wait, Snowboarder Shaun White Just Signed a Record Deal?
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White is leaving sports stardom for an attempt at music stardom. Bad Things, the rock-pop outfit he plays guitar in, has signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The 26-year-old snowboarder/skateboarder formed the band with two childhood friends before recruiting a bassist and frontman. Their premiere single, "Caught Inside" balances synth-rock with feel-good, festival-ready harmonies aka a nice addition to any summer playlist. You can judge for yourself when the band goes on tour this summer.
Their debut album, produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Tokyo Police Club, Elliot Smith), will be released this year, conveniently just before the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Ya know, just in case the whole rock star thing doesn't work out.
