In a landmark triumph for gay Americans Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional because it violated the right to liberty and to equal protection for gay couples. This means same-sex couples who are legally married now have equal rights to the benefits under federal law that go to all other married couples, including tax breaks, pension rights and other benefits.

It's cause for celebration! Many musicians, from Tegan & Sara to Adam Lambert, Demi Lovato to P!nk to Blink-182's Mark Hoppus, took to Twitter to express their gratitude and congratulate America's progress towards equality.
