2 Chainz to Release Cookbook With New Album?
2 Chainz was recently able to mark working with Pharrell off his bucket list, and now he's going for another dream: Cookbook publication!
In a recent interview with New York's Power 105.1, the Georgia rapper opened up his upcoming sophomore album— B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time—and educating fans on what they should and should not put into their bodies.
On the new album, Tity Boi explained that his focus was moving forward musically.
"It’s all about showing growth and maturation. It’s supposed to be better than the last time," he said. "I’m coming with a new album, a new way of life…I wanted to show progression on this album I wanted to show prosperity."
But, thankfully, despite all the talk of growth and maturation, he still doesn't take himself too seriously. In response to DJ Self's gushing about being "so proud" of the rapper and remarking that he has "that glow about [him]," 2 Chainz simply replied:
"I just got a facial or something. Exfoliated."
In addition to the mad spa treatment, "that glow" may be a byproduct of working with an idol: Pharrell.
"Working with Pharrell, I never thought I'd have a chance to work with someone like that in my life," he said.
"I didn’t think I could reach that. Just being someone that was heavy in the mixtape market and just taking it as it come."
We're guessing other idols might be Julia Childs or The Barefoot Contessa as Tity is seriously thinking about including a cookbook with the CD release of his album. But no worries, there will be no greased-up Paula Deen type recipes for this rapper. 2 Chaniz, who suffers from stomach ailments and incorporates a healthy eating lifestyle, is interested in helping people with this release—not causing coronary blockage.
"I’m cool enough to be comfortable in my own skin and try to educate people,” Chainz said. "So with this cookbook I’m going to have probably about 14-15 meals, how many ever songs it is. It’s going to tell you whatever was used to make this as far as ingredients and cooking time and all that stuff. And probably the pros and cons of eating it."
The "Birthday Song" rapper is so healthy, he avoids dark meat (and "the other white meat") in general:
"I’m a seafood lover I don’t eat beef or pork period. So turkey, chicken that’s in a lot of the recipes I use."
As far as the form of his haute cuisine release, he explained:
"A lot of people use DVDs bonus stuff like that. I just want to come probably with my own little array of swag aprons with the cookbook. That will probably get me on The View or something like that."
Now that you mentioned it, Tity, we did hear that Elizabeth Hasselbeck is leaving the show. And you've got the whole laughing about facials bit down. Barbara Walters and 2 Chainz? Now, that, we would actually sit through the View for!
