Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were driving to a Dave Matthews Band gig in Hershey, PA, when they spotted a hitchhiker along the side of the road. The couple pulled over to let the stranger in and quickly realized it was... Dave Matthews himself.

Matthews was out for a quick preshow bike ride when his back tire popped. He didn't have his cell phone, so his only option for getting to his show was to hitchhike. When Kraus pulled over, Matthews secured his bike onto the car's bike rack and hopped in the back seat. Then the couple drove Dave Matthews to a Dave Matthews Band concert. Best day ever.

The drive was only seven minutes long, and Kraus admitted to CBS' WHP-TV that she wasn't exactly sure what to say to the Grammy winner. "We didn't know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from." Matthews told the couple the band was just in Cincinatti and that they'd be taking a short break after their Hershey gig so he could drop his daughters off at camp. Kraus continued, "He was just a very humble guy."

Humble and generous. To thank the couple for their good deed, Matthews invited them to dinner! He also hooked them up with backstage passes and front row tickets. On top of all that, Dave also thanked the couple during his set

The day after the show, Emily wrote on WHP-TV's Facebook page, "OK, yeah, that really happened yesterday. It was surreal, we couldn't believe it." Matthews, meanwhile, said, "I'm just thankful they didn't crash into me." (Just kidding about that last part, but I couldn't pass up that pun.)
