Lady Gaga, Ne-Yo Wrote Tracks on Upcoming TLC Album
Earlier this year, TLC announced that not only were they reuniting, but they had a tour and an album in the works. Now we've got more news on what to expect on the group's first release in 11 years.
At a press conference Thursday morning, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas revealed two tracks on the album have already been written, and there's some serious star power behind them. R&B hitmaker Ne-Yo penned the track "Meant to Be," and Lady Gaga alongside longtime TLC producer Dallas Austin wrote "Posh Life." TLC also added they've clocked some studio time with Drake, and were hoping for another collabo with J. Cole, who they collaborated with on his track, "Crooked Smile."
The reunited TLC is also heading to Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA, this weekend, and Lil Mama is scheduled to step in for a guest appearance. The rapper plays Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez in the upcoming VH1 documentary about the group, CrazySexyCool. But, no worries, super fans, she's not taking Left Eye's place. "[Left Eye] left behind a legacy in her music and her style that people feel like, ‘Don’t touch that,'" Lil Mama said. "And it’s an honor to be chosen by her sisters, to say ‘Hey you got it, don’t worry about what nobody else says. Make us proud.'"
Chili told Essence that TLC will have new music out "right after the biopic drops." So expect a new track some time around October.
