Danny Brown Sets Release Date for New Album, 'Old'
Earlier this morning, Detroit rapper Danny Brown, frustrated at the lack of a release schedule of third album Old, took to Twitter and threatened to "f-ck around and leak that sh-t myself if n-ggas don't get it together."
Apparently, someone at Brown's label Fool's Gold got it together, as the rapper tweeted to Pitchfork, "Guess it's coming out in October now." FYI: August is complain about your label and immediately get a release date month.
In June, Brown told Clash magazine that Old would be out this month. "I'm very self-conscious about what I release," Brown said at the time. "I can do feature songs and whatever, but when you see an album and it says, 'This is a Danny Brown album', it's gotta be at the most potent quality. And that doesn't take six months. It doesn't take a year. I tell people all of the time, it takes two years for me to make an album. I don't see any more setbacks. For sure it'll be out in August."
Last time we spoke with Brown, the perpetually outspoken rapper sounded off on being in jail, recording songs in 30 minutes and not being down with "fake preacher sh-t."
