Last September, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl announced at the Global Citizen Festival that the set would be the band's "last show for a long time." One month later, amid breakup and hiatus rumors, Grohl issued a statement re-affirming his commitment to the band, writing, "I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world."

Seems like Grohl was serious, as the Foo frontman told XFM that the band finished writing their as-yet-untitled eighth album. "Well, I'll tell you, we have been in our studio writing and in the past few weeks we've written an album and we are going to make this album in a way that no-one's ever done before and we're pretty excited about it," he admitted. "It's a little ways off - it's not ready to happen right now but I think next year is going to be a really big year for the Foo Fighters without question. It's going to be great, I can't wait."

No word yet on album specifics but yeah, looks like that hiatus is over and they can go back to obsessing over Queen.
