Psy Opens Up About Alcohol Problems & Forthcoming Album
When Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun announced he would manage Psy in the U.S., the duo toasted with a large gulp of native Korean alcohol soju. According to an interview with the UK's Sunday Times, though, Psy's affection is more than celebratory.
The Times described the 35-year-old as a heavy smoker who brought three packs of cigarettes to the chat, uncomfortably asked his staff for translations and spoke about his drinking habits with a sigh. Referring to booze as his "best friend" and "vice partner," Psy added the concerning note, "If I'm happy, I'm drinking, if I'm sad, I'm drinking. If it's raining, I'm drinking, if it's sunny, I'm drinking. If it's hot, I'm drinking, if it's cold, I'm drinking."
So when does he take a break from boozing? "When I'm hung over," he said.
In happier news, Psy's Korean label announced plans to release a full album in September. He's once again collaborating with the producer of "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman," Yoo Gun Hyung, so expect more dance-worthy rap tunes.
Psy even tweeted the encouraging message below announcing three finished tracks.
