Exclusive Premiere: Hellogoodbye's Indie-Pop Gem "The Magic Hour Is Now"

Cali indie-pop outfit Hellogoodbye are releasing their third album, Everything Is Debatable, on October 29 via Old Friends Records, and with LP track "The Magic Hour Is Now," frontman Forrest Kline proves his songcraft and gift for melody is only getting better. Listen to the track above, exclusively premiered on Fuse.

The song's crisp drumming and sunny guitar strumming are perfect counterparts to the yearning, world-wise lyrics. "The Magic Hour Is Now" pulls off the rare trick of being both upbeat and meditative at the same time.

"This song came up real late in the game, halfway through the process [of recording the album]," Kline tells Fuse. "I just had a skeleton of looped drums, acoustic guitar and the vocal but it was really important to me to make sure it made it onto the record, even as it was still very nebulous."

Fortunately, Hellogoodbye were able to turn that demo into a full-bodied indie gem. "It came together, thank god, because I know the record wouldn't be the same without it—'You can't stop the sunset,'" Kline adds, quoting a line from the song.

"The Magic Hour is Now" will be available for download at 9pm PT, midnight ET tonight. But for now, listen to it above and be sure to catch Hellogoodbye on tour with Paramore and Metric starting October 15 in Seattle.
