Taylor Swift Lands Movie Role Alongside Oscar Winners
Looks like Taylor Swift is about to make the pilgrimage from Nashville to Hollywood. While she is not selling (that we know of) her Music City digs, she is set to star alongside venerated actors Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges in an upcoming film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tay recently secured a slot in the film adaption of the massively popular young adult novel, The Giver, by Lois Lowry.
Filming is set to start October 7th in Cape Town, South Africa. Guess that means no Red follow-up for a while? Sad panda.
T Swizzle is the latest star to sign on to the movie, which will also feature Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes, True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, The Odd Life of Timothy Green's Odeya Rush and Shameless' Cameron Monaghan.
Considering the fact that just writing those names down somehow managed to give us stage fright, we can only imagine how acting-newbie Taylor must feel.
The "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer's previous acting credits include guest slots on CSI and New Girl, the widely panned 2010 rom-com Valentine's Day and voice acting last year for Dr. Seuss', The Lorax.
How Swift managed to jump from cartoon character to acting alongside Oscar winners is beyond us, but we're happy for her.
We would be even happier if this resulted in a Taylor Swift/Jeff Bridges collabo. Crazy Heart + Boy Crazy=something delightfully weird. Bring it on!
