Sky Ferreira Cancels Remaining Tour Dates
Sky Ferreira has officially canceled the remaining dates on her tour with Vampire Weekend, citing vocal injury.
The "Sad Dream" singer, who was arrested (along with boyfriend, Zachary Cole Smith of Brooklyn indie band DIIV) on September 13 for possession of ecstasy and heroin, recently addressed the news on Twitter.
She simply wrote, "I'm so sorry" and linked to an official press release.
According to the release, Ferreira suffered a hemorrhage of her vocal cords during a show in San Diego on October 1st. Doctors have ordered vocal rest for two weeks at this time.
She initially thought the issue would only affect a week of performances. After the injury she wrote the following on her Facebook page:
"Due [sic] an illness affecting my vocal chords, my doctor has prescribed several days of total vocal rest.
"Sadly, the timing will force me to miss this week's shows with Vampire Weekend. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused for the band and fans. I'm doing my best to re-join the tour as soon I'm 100%."
She later tweeted, "I'll be back by Monday."
As we all know from the likes of Adele and Nathan Skykes, a vocal cord hemorrhage can be a pretty dire diagnosis.
So, keep quiet and get better, Sky!
