Timbaland, Jay Z & Drake Brag About Riches (Again) on "Know Bout Me"
In case you forgot that Timbaland, Jay Z and Drake are all super successful and super rich, and that your annual income won't even touch a small fraction of theirs, well, the trio just dropped a new collabo to remind you (yet again). "Know Bout Me" is a super cocky rap track—even from dudes known for super cocky rap tracks—but the sad reality that you're sentenced to a lifetime of financial frustration is alleviated by the track's undeniable awesomeness.
Listen to "Know Bout Me" right here.
Over rattling bass, Jay opens by shouting, "It's like Walt Disney around this b-tch!" With the combined $95 million Hova and Beyonce earned last year, it's not hard to imagine the Carter Family living in their own private Disneyland.
Timba raps that he "just might go and buy a Benz," while Drake claims, "If this was 10 years ago, I would've went diamond," aka selling 10 million copies of one album. For the record: Jay's been in the game for nearly 20 years and has yet to accomplish (or even come close to) that feat.
Later Drake boasts, "Got impeccable timing / If they forgot about my worth, I got a check to remind 'em." Hey, Drake, go ahead and make that out to "Jeff Benjamin." Thanks.
Timbaland's new album, Textbook Timbo, has yet to be given a release date. Jay is a confirmed guest on another track, "Bounce," while "Know Bout Me" is set to hit iTunes on December 3.
