Joe Jonas on Losing Virginity, Smoking Weed With Miley Cyrus & Demi Lovato
Just over a month after the Jonas Brothers officially broke up, Joe Jonas penned a non-salacious but extremely personal tell-all essay for New York magazine about his time with the Disney family band.
Among the more fascinating revelations: The age the middle JoBro lost his virginity and the age he first tried marijuana. The v-card reveal is especially significant as the Disney-pimped Jonas Brothers prominently wore purity rings for years before giving up on that fantasy.
"We decided to take the rings off a few years ago," Jonas wrote. "I lost my virginity when I was 20. I did other stuff before then, but I was sexually active at 20. I'm glad I waited for the right person, because you look back and you go, 'That girl was batsh-t crazy. I'm glad I didn't go there.'"
So although he's given in on "waiting until marriage," his abstinence about-face is hardly as dramatic as Miley Cyrus' switch from purity ring-sporting country gal to sexually-empowered Ambassador of Twerk.
Speaking of Miley, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter claims Hannah Montana and his former girlfriend Demi Lovato peer-pressured him into trying marijuana about seven years ago.
"The first time I smoked weed was with Demi and Miley," JJ wrote. "I must have been 17 or 18. They kept saying, 'Try it! Try it!' so I gave it a shot, and it was all right. I don't even smoke weed that often anymore."
Morals from this story: Peer pressure works, weed isn't necessarily a gateway drug and everyone has to grow up at some point.
