At this point, Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon are as much a comedy duo as individual performers, with the late-night host and pop superstar appearing together more than most real-life musical couples. For the season finale of Saturday Night Live, the pair resurrected some favorite characters of the past and brought out Madonna, Paul McCartney and Bee Gees co-founder Barry Gibb.
Gibb and Madonna appeared on the "Barry Gibb Talk Show" talk show skit above, appearing as themselves in a long-running skit that finds Timberlake and Fallon lampooning the Brothers Gibb's unique falsetto singing voices.
McCartney appeared alongside Fallon in the host's monologue to sing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
As musical guest, Timberlake eschewed the big singles on his 20/20 Experience to perform dazzling versions of "Only When I Walk Away" and "Pair of Wings."
The episode also spoofed numerous rappers and singers. Jay Pharoah and Nasim Pedrad brought back Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for the fake morning talk show "Waking Up With Kimye." In one of the funniest skits, Shakira, Pitbull, DMX, Lorde, Billie Joe Armstrong and Alanis Morissette were all spoofed in an ad for Now That's What I Call Christmas.
The show will return January 18, with Drake confirmed as host and musical guest.
