'Fuse News' Host Liz Walaszczyk's EDM Artists to Watch in 2014

Fuse's resident electronic music fan lets you know which artists and DJs you should be listening (and dancing) to in the new year
 /

The best part of the new year is, of course, the new music, and one thing we should definitely be looking forward to in 2014 is… dancing! Creating masterful sounds that range from about 115 to 180 BPM I'd like thank the DJ for getting the party started and more importantly, keeping it going all night long!

Here are a few of the EDM artists you should definitely check out in 2014:

Martin Garrix

At the tender young age of just 17-years-old Martin is the youngest person ever to reach the No. 1 spot on Beatport, "the world's largest DJ and electronic music community." He appeared on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list 2013 as a new entry at No. 40. His biggest hit "Animals" (below) was released in May 2013 and the video already has over 123 million plays. Enough said.

RL Grime

You may know RL Grime by his previous stage name Clockwork. When he first started making music his focus was on producing electro and progressive house tracks, but now with trap sitting front and center Clockwork has become RL Grime.

In July 2013 he released his High Beams EP on Fool's Gold Records. It debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Electronic chart, and No. 8 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

At the end of last year he collaborated with Baauer on the track "Infinite Daps" (below) and is currently hard to work on his next major release, set for 2014.

Dyro

2013 was a breakout year for Dyro. This Dutch DJ debuted at No. 30 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list, which made him the youngest 'Highest New Entry' artist to ever appear in the definitive poll. Hardwell shared the stage with Dyro at Ultra Music Festival in Miami where the two performed the world premiere of their track "Never Say Goodbye" featuring Bright Lights (below). Dyro is notorious for his bass lines and intense drops and based on the fact that he appears in everyone's set, from Tiesto to Afrojack, proves why 2014 is going to be a big year for him.

Nicolas Jaar

I'm such a huge fan of his. He's been in the game for awhile now, but is still very young at just 23-years-old. He's not exactly "EDM" but he is a DJ. With his unique, smooth and sexy sounds, Nico reminds you what the "real" DJ is all about.  His current project, Darkside, is with guitarist Dave Harrington. They recently announced a tour in support of their critically acclaimed debut, Psychic.

Check out this Essential Mix, it's a good indication of what he's all about and covers classical, pop, R&B.

Dillon Francis

In May of this year we'll finally see the debut album from Dillon Francis. He promised Fuse News it will make us dance and apparently it's more of a collection of songs than a traditional album.  Whatever it's going to be, I can pretty much guarantee you'll love it. Dillon was one of the few that helped birth Moombahton (a genre fusing house and reggaeton) and with Diplo as your mentor it's kinda hard to go wrong. One of the singles off his album is his 2013 hit "Without You" (below).

DJ Snake

DJ Snake is what all trap music should be. Anything this French producer touches turns to gold,  I can't wait to see more of him in 2014. If you want a little taste check out this teaser of his Kanye West "New Slaves" remix:

August 29: Little Orphan Ed?

The "Don't" singer, Ed Sheeran, makes a special appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" as the lovable orphan, Annie. Donning the famous red dress, and the equally famous red hair, we think Sheeran would make a great understudy. The best part though? His little dog friend, Sandy on that skateboard.
