"I'm here to celebrate the life of a young man whose path I crossed a little over a year ago," the Atlanta label boss said of the rising Montgomery rapper. "I admired Doe because as a young man he always presented himself to be more mature. It's very rare you find somebody at the age of 20-21 and sit them down in front of somebody they aspire to be like, and they're as composed and poised and postured [as he was]… That was what drew me to him."
T.I. assured Doe B's family that the rapper's legacy won't be forgotten. "I will never let his life be lived in vain," T.I. promised. "All of my resources, all of my relationships, all of my efforts, all of my energy will be put forth to make sure his dream lives on."
Police are currently holding two suspects without bail in the fatal shooting that claimed the life of Doe B and two other bystanders in a Montgomery nightclub on December 28. Authorities believe the shooting was a result of an "ongoing dispute" between the slain MC and the two suspects.
