Foster the People Revisit High School in "Coming of Age" Video
On Foster the People's latest single "Coming of Age," Mark Foster sings with resignation about the dissolution of a relationship at his own hands. "Well, I'm bored of the game and too tired to rage," he sings. "Feels like I'm coming of age."
The video is appropriately moody, with softly-lit performance footage of the band interspersed with clips of teenagers—styled across different decades—sprinting from cops or sitting dejected on the bleachers of a football field. The video has a streak of sadness, but it's also a rallying cry: One kid punches back at a bully, another finally gets to clutch a crush's hand.
The single is off the band's forthcoming sophomore album Supermodel, out March 14. Foster has called the album "angry," an emotion hinted at but softened in this video.
