Deadmau5 took the reigns as a last minute Ultra Music Festival headliner on Saturday night, filling in for Avicii, who was forced to pull out for emergency surgery

In our full report of the Canadian producer's set, we noted that Deadmau5 played a few bars of Avicii's "Levels" mixed into his own "Ghosts N Stuff.” Tiesto, who headlined Ultra on Friday night, tweeted to Deadmau5 in appreciation of the gesture, but then soon seemed confused by the actual intentions behind the tribute.

When it comes to the motivation behind the tribute, it should be noted that, earlier in the day, Deadmau5 had sent his best wishes to Avicii, tweeting, ".@Avicii hey man, wish it was under better circumstances, ill do my best to hold it down for you tonight. get better soon dude!"

So Deadmau5 was quick to respond to Tiesto.

Continuing his response, Deadmau5 also tweeted: "@tiesto are you about to give me sh-t for playing levels? Christ if I had a nickle for everyone who played levels, I'd buy a 15 mil house."

He then followed up with: "@tiesto play f-ckin ghosts n stuff at my funeral for all I f-ckin care."

As for Tiesto: After his initial tweets, he never responded.
