Chance the Rapper Explains Hospitalization, Cancels More Shows
After canceling his Coachella set less than an hour before he was supposed to take the stage and spending two days in the hospital, Chance the Rapper has released a statement on his condition.
The cause of the illness was "a combination of the flu virus and tonsillitis," and according to his team, he's still recovering from it.
His manager wrote, "Upon rising on Sunday morning, Chance was running a 104 degree fever and could not speak due to the inflammation of his throat. He was rushed to Hollywood Presbyterian hospital where he was put on an IV drip and medicines were introduced to help control his body temperature and pain caused by his illness."
Chance has canceled the rest of his shows this week. His next scheduled performance is May 2 at Dallas' JMBLYA festival.
