Must-Watch: Pre-Fame Courtney Love Interview From 1987
Before she was known as the Hole frontwoman/Kurt Cobain's wife/amateur aviation expert, Courtney Love was just an up-and-coming musician, struggling to find her way. Throughout the '80s she jumped around a few different bands, including Faith No More and Babes in Toyland, and also appeared in films like Sid & Nancy. And someone took notice.
In 1987, Love appeared on Andy Warhol's short-lived MTV series, Andy Warhol's Fifteen Minutes. In this rare clip, Love is introduced by Debbie Harry (?!) and interviewed in what appears to be a trash dump. But she's the same fountain of perfect quotes we've come to adore. "If I wasn't an actress, I probably would've been a bag lady," she confessed upfront. "I get a lot of inspiration from bag ladies."
Hole are currently reuniting this year—so to get excited, we recommend watching a bit of trash talk from Love.
