Courtney Love just unleashed "You Know My Name," her first new track in years, and it's as loud, unapologetic and merciless on the eardrums as you'd come to expect from the hellfire behind Hole

We absolutely "know her name," but it's been awhile since "Courtney Love" has triggered riffs this hard as opposed to tabloid fodder and sad disputes. Though Love recently collaborated with Fall Out Boyreunited with her former bandmates and said her "amazing" new record would be ready for a Christmas release in July 2013, that album has yet to surface.

But given the assured quality of "You Know My Name," that could be changing. Shame, deceit, disbelief, disappointment and a brutal hybrid of '80s metal and fiendish punk delivery abound here. The intensity is promising for her upcoming album.

The last time Love released new music was in 2010, when she fronted the money for Nobody's Daughter, Hole's troubled final record. The screams of "You Know My Name" don't strike a familiar chord when paired with Celebrity Skin and Live Through This, but it does kind of remind us of The Lone Rangers for some godawful (or fantastic) reason. Listen to it above.
