According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gwen Stefani is in talks with NBC to join the reality singing series as their next coach. If Stefani ends up filling in for Aguilera, she won't be the only newbie. It was announced last month that Pharrell Williams would be joining The Voice as a judge filling in for Cee Lo Green.
If you recall, Williams and Stefani recently joined forces onstage. During the first weekend of Coachella, the "Happy" singer brought out Stefani during his set and the two performed the Neptunes-produced "Hollaback Girl." He also said, while they were onstage, that he "promised big things" for her.
"Before she leaves, I have not seen her in nine months," Williams said at Coachella, referring to the recent birth of Stefani's baby boy. "Look how amazing the queen looks as she is making her arrival back to the music industry."
Some speculated that his comments hinted that Stefani was working on a new solo album, a follow-up to her 2006 The Sweet Escape. Though perhaps Williams was referring to these NBC negotiations. Who knows!?
