Paramore's Hayley Williams Responds to Bieber's Artwork Theft
UPDATE 3/29: Paramore aren't done just yet! Today the band announced a limited-edition single for the track "Ain't it Fun." You might find that the artwork looks shockingly similar to Justin Bieber's "Believe." Here's proof. Good one, guys!
Original Story: Yesterday Justin Bieber dropped the acoustic ballad, "We Were Born For This." The song—which sounds nothing like Paramore—struck a chord with pop-punk purists, as the artwork on his SoundCloud looks shockingly similar to fan art created in 2011 for Paramore's 2007 record, Riot!
Frontwoman Hayley Williams responded the to controversy on her Tumblr by posting an image from King of the Hill. It's a scene where the character Minh tells Peggy Hill, "No offense," to which she responds, "None taken, I wasn't even listening." The singer captioned it, "My opinion on the whole JB / artwork thing is basically this."
She later tweeted an image taken in a recording studio with the caption, "Crushing on the dude @newfoundglory practice while everyone's freakin out about JB on twitter"
Sometimes apathy is the best tactic.
