Watch Ed Sheeran Perform on 'Saturday Night Live'
We think it’s pretty clear by now that if you’re scheduled to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live it means you’ll end up having the best week ever. Case in point: Ed Sheeran.
Our favorite British ginger, and Taylor Swift's too, digitally released "Sing," his first single off his sophomore album, X, last week (worldwide release will be June 23). He then went on to amazingly sing an acoustic version of Beyonce's "Drunk In Love," on a radio show, which went viral, of course.
As he continued making the promotional rounds for X, which he worked on with Rick Rubin (omg!), he also appeared on Fuse News. The singer spoke about comparing his recent work to that of Lauryn Hill and working with Rubin.
So back to SNL (Taylor was there, too, by the way). Sheeran began his set acoustically with his single "Sing" before bringing in the rest of the band and it sounded incredible. For his second song, he debuted a soulful, rappish track, titled "Don’t."
During the end of the episode, while host Seth Rogan thanked everyone as he closed the show, Sheeran charmingly went in for a side hug and grasped the actor. It was a very tender moment. Check out his performances below.
