Get ready, xx fans: Jamie xx revealed the band is hard at work on their third record, and it looks like they've been spending some quality time in the Lone Star State to get the creative juices flowing.

Jamie xx talked about their new album and paid tribute to a few folks during his 6 Mix residency on BBC's 6 Music, such as DJ Rashad via the late-great DJ's remix of Gil Scott Heron's "Home Is Where The Hatred Is." He also gave country stalwart Mickey Newbury's "33rd of August" a spin as a nod to the xx's newfound connection to Texas.

Young Turks, the xx's label, has been posting photos from Marfa detailing some behind-the-scenes action throughout their recording process, and it looks like Newbury's been on the duo's mind in between sessions.

The xx recently wrapped their spring tour in Marfa. They have no major festival appearances scheduled for the coming months, so here's hoping they've got a few tricks up their collective sleeve to keep us guessing over the course of the summer.
