Angel Haze is in love.
In a recent interview with the UK's Independent, the fierce New York City-based rapper and self-described pansexual opened up about her relationship with Ireland Baldwin, daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger.
"It’s going well," Haze said. "I don’t know if there’s like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like we’re just friends hanging out. It’s funny. It’s rad in some way, it sucks in others.”
In case there was any lingering doubt, Haze put it bluntly: "[We're] an interracial gay couple—I mean, that’s just weird for America right now. We f**k and friends don’t f**k. I have never f**ked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesn’t happen."
When asked if dating Ireland changed her outlook on life, Haze referred to a prior relationship. "When you find it, love, it definitely amends your perspective on certain things," she said. "I was dating a guy I really liked about a year ago and being around him and realizing so many things about myself totally made me hate the traditional ideas of what a relationship should be, of what romance should be."
Haze made headlines at the end of 2013 when her label rushed out her debut album Dirty Gold after she purposely leaked it. Earlier this month, she contributed a track to the 22 Jump Street soundtrack, which you can stream below:
