Drake may be a Toronto boy, but he's always shown big love to the city to city of Houston. There's his "Houstonatlantavegas" joint, he's hosting the inaugural Houston Appreciation Weekend and, according to the mayor H-Town, he has "been known to show kindness to the citizens of Houston." 

To pay back him back, the city has officially deemed June 10, 2014 as "Drake Day." According to the official statement by Houston mayor Annise D. Parker, the holiday "commends and appreciates Drake for dedicating his time to Houston through his passion and enthusiasm for music and our city."

The official proclamation lists Drizzy coining the term "YOLO," Lil Wayne inviting him to fly to Houston and other relevant (?) accomplishments to the honor.

The announcement came at a baseball game between the Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks last night. Read the holiday's full, grandiose proclamation below.
