Foo Fighters Cover The Rolling Stones, Queen And More At Firefly
Sure, the Foo Fighters have embarked on a huge undertaking with their eighth studio album, the multi-city trek it involves and Sonic Highways, but they're throwing a few new covers into the mix, too.
At Firefly last night, the Foos took on "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones, Queen's "Under Pressure," Alice Cooper's "School's Out," Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" and more for an eardrum-demolishing encore that's basically consisted of every jukebox's favorite playlist. (Naturally, they closed their festival headlining set with "Everlong.")
Dave Grohl reintroduced himself and the Foo Fighters as "The Holy S--ts" before diving headfirst into the mini classic rock marathon. The Foos seem like they'd be more into the Exile on Main Street era of the Stones than the disco groove of "Miss You," but we'll take Grohl's best Jagger impression in any format any day. Watch cuts of the epic covers from Firefly below.
