Justice Department Asks Judge to Throw Out Insane Clown Posse Lawsuit
Earlier this year, Insane Clown Posse and four Juggalos filed a lawsuit against the FBI for classifying their fans as "gang members" and thus causing unfair and unwanted harassment from law officials.
Now, the Justice Department is asking the Detroit judge to throw out the suit. The Associated Press reports that the reasoning is they have "no grounds to sue" and that they're not liable for any problems caused by the original 2011 report that first classified the Juggalos.
A hearing is scheduled for today.
"It gets laughs out of people but think about it—that's insane," Violent J told Fuse in 2013. "To name our fanbase a gang with Crips and Bloods and MS-13s.... I don't know where to begin with that sh-t. Does that mean our concerts are gang rallies now? Does that mean our merchandise is gang apparel?"
Insane Clown Posse's annual Gathering of the Juggalos is scheduled for July 23 - 26 in Thornville, Ohio, with scheduled performances by Cypress Hill, Tech N9ne and many more.
