If Azealia Banks is one thing, it's brutally honest long past the point of uncensored, and the controversial rapper couldn't contain her joy earlier this afternoon when she revealed that she just got out of her record deal.

After "literally begging" to be dropped from her label, Universal, earlier this year, it looks like Banks finally got her wish: she took to Twitter to reveal that she and Universal are parting ways, and she appears to be thrilled about it.

Banks likes to tweet, a lot, and tweets like these have landed her in hot water in the past. Broke With Expensive Taste, the follow-up to 2012's 1991 EP, has been delayed time and time again, and Banks threatened to leak it back in April on the day before its scheduled release (which never came to fruition). In addition to venting about the perpetually pushed-back full-length, Banks has ruffled the feathers of everyone from Pharrell to Lily Allen to T.I., and the one new track we have seen recently, "ATM JAM," her joint production with Pharrell, was such a massive bomb that she scrapped it from the record.

We're still waiting on Broke, but maybe her departure from Universal means that new tracks from Banks will give us more to listen to beyond "212". Either way, here's hoping she continues to channel this positivity in order to craft an indie comeback.
