SPICA Make English Debut With Funky, Bumpin' "I Did It" Video
Some of our favorite K-pop girl groups like Wonder Girls, Girls' Generation and 2NE1 have dabbled in the American market with English releases, and today a new act joins them. SPICA made their U.S. debut (via Billboard) with the funky, summery "I Did It."
The bumpin', brassy production has a sound similar to recent hits like Ariana Grande's "Problem" and Jessie J's "Bang Bang," featuring the girls singing and rapping empowering, girl-power lyrics. Our favorite moment comes when Juhyun raps, "SPICA SPICA, we blowin' up ya speaker / We run the town like the boys need to wake up / You watch my legs, you watch my rear / Whatcha lookin' at? My eyes are up here!" You tell 'em, girl.
From their 2012 debut, SPICA has stood out in K-pop for their powerful, Christina Aguilera-esque vocals and the girls sound right at home harmonizing through this modern-day, throwback track.
