Working the power of pop for good seems to be a trend that's taking off with the biggest names in music at the moment, and Demi Lovato is the most recent socially-minded starlet to use her name to make a difference.

Today on Facebook, Demi revealed that the opening act for her next tour isn't an up-and-coming pop band (a la former road buddies Fifth Harmony) but a man with a hugely inspirational story.

Spencer West will be joining the Demi Lovato World Tour, and the speaker, activist and author has had a profound impact on Demi since the two met while working on behalf of charity Free The Children in East Africa. Spencer (who lost both of his legs to a genetic disorder as a child and went on to climb Mount Kilimanjaro solely by using his hands) has since traveled the world sharing inspirational stories from his experiences with others. Now, Demi's hoping that her audiences will feel just as connected to him as she is.
