We know that Charli XCX has a thing for Clueless and that she loves American high schools (or how they're portrayed in film, at least), but now the British pop star has taken her adoration to a whole new level by crashing a high school's homecoming dance.

Aspire Pacific Academy in Huntington Park, California found a surprise headliner in Charli, who showed up at the high school's Homecoming to perform "Boom Clap," "I Love It" and "Fancy" before hitting the DJ booth during the festivities last night.

It wasn't just a publicity stunt, either: Charli loves this stuff, and given how she grew up in the UK, she didn't get to participate in the kind of decked-out, dreamy evening that American teens are subject to at least once in their high school years. (We don't want to crush her aspirations as plenty of American teens wouldn't call a school dance "dreamy," either, but hey! Watch the movies, people!)

"Homecoming dances and proms are an American thing I've always been very fascinated with because all of my favorite movies end with a prom or something like that," she said. "I was really excited because I thought it was going to be like my own `Jawbreaker' moment."

Here's hoping a photo turns up of Charli rocking a Homecoming Queen crown, because the whole shebang sounds like a night to remember—and we're sure the kids at Aspire Pacific Academy agree.

Don't forget: "Boom Clap" is one of the videos in the running for Top 40, so get your vote on if you think the track from The Fault in Our Stars is one of the best of the year!
