Since Michael Brown was shot and killed, several musicians have come forward with songs of protest seeking to raise awareness for what's going on in Ferguson, Missouri. Killer Mike, T.I., J. Cole and others have dropped tracks, op-eds and heartbreaking speeches calling for peace and understanding in a time of crisis, all voicing outrage, concern, despair and grief for the loss of Brown's young life.

Now, Tink and Timbaland have teamed up for the evocative "Tell The Children."

The song—which borrows the hook from Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" and veils it with a minor key—incorporates shouts, inspirational quotes calling for change and powerful phrases pulled from news broadcasts and protests in its packed three-and-a-half minutes. Tink tackles police brutality and racial profiling in every single line, with the haunting refrain of "Tell the children to watch out / Keep runnin', runnin', runnin' runnin' / They gaining on us" gaining momemtum throughout it.

This is the latest release from Tink, who's also recently collaborated with Sleigh Bells and Rick Ross and Jay Z. Listen to the Song of the Day below, and keep Ferguson in your thoughts.
