Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, a.k.a. Rae Sremmurd, broke out big time in 2014 thanks to youthful rap anthems "No Type" and "No Flex Zone." The latter hit had Nicki Minaj and Pusha T jump on a blazing remix, and now the "Anaconda" queen has teamed up with the ATL duo again for their new single.
Like its title suggests, "Throw Sum Mo" is an ode to slinging singles at dancers with Nicki playing the stripper in the spotlight. She purrs on the hook, "Ass fat / Yeah I know, you just got cash / Blow sum mo', blow sum mo' / The more you spend it, the faster it go."
Along with Young Thug, each Rae Sremmurd MC handles a verse with 20-year-old Slim talking about how "shorty got an ass...somethin' like Nicki's." Big talk for a young rapper.
The brother duo recently stopped by Fuse to talk about the message behind their bangers. "A lot of new artists these days, they want to do the same thing," Swae said. "We're trying to show that we still have culture. We still have new stuff. It's not all negative."
Rae Sremmurd's full-length SremmLife is one of the first albums to drop in the new year, coming out January 6. In addition to Nicki and Young Thug, Big Sean and Jace of Two-9 also make appearances.
