"Burn" babe Ellie Goulding has shared "Love Me Like You Do," her Max Martin-produced contribution to the highly-anticipated and totally sexy upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey. The film is already sparking conversation with its erotic plot, so the next logical step is to put forth an equally sultry soundtrack.
Queen Beyoncé was the first to get on board, reworking her iconic "Crazy in Love" for the movie's trailer. Last month The Weeknd shared "Earned It," and today, Ellie joins their ranks.
Goulding is known for her massive, anthemic pop jams that typically ruminate on relationships. "Love Me Like You Do" (co-written by "Habits" genius Tove Lo!) deals with the physical side of things, with Ellie telling her partner to "touch" her in the chorus.
"You're the light / You're the night / You're the color of my blood / You're the cure / You're the pain / You're the only thing I want," she sings, expressing a desperate and all-consuming form of intimacy. When the song reaches its apex, she repeats the song's title: "Love me like you do." Could it be inspired by boyfriend and frequent One Direction contributor Dougie Poytner of the band McFly?
