UPDATE (2/5): From the Super Bowl to the GRAMMYs, Katy Perry is prepping yet another dazzling live show. And while we loved the dancing sharks and giant lion, this performance has a deeper message.
The Recording Academy confirmed an earlier Billboard report saying Perry will perform Prism ballad "By the Grace of God." People also reports that domestic violence survivor Brooke Axtell will perform a piece alongside Perry. "It's an honor to collaborate with Katy in this way," the Austin-based activist told the mag. "It's going to bring a lot of encouragement and freedom to those who hear my story and know that they are not alone in this."
The collaboration came from an idea from GRAMMY producer Ken Ehrlich. "I started thinking about it and said, 'There is probably an opportunity here to do something really important.' It is one thing to have Katy sing, but why would we not want to accompany it with someone's personal experience who could humanize [domestic violence] and make it relatable to millions of men and women who are survivors."
