One Direction Surpass Obama For Second Most Retweeted Tweet Ever
One Direction can add "social media mavens" to their repertoire. When they're not soothing crying babies with their soft croons or accidentally starring in six-figure fan fiction book deals, they're breaking Twitter records.
Billboard reports that for a while there, President Obama's historic "Four More Years" tweet, posted after his reelection, was the site's most retweeted tweet of all time. Fast forward two years and Ellen DeGeneres' now-iconic Oscars' selfie claimed the title. Apparently the British babes of 1D are on her trail, and a 2011 tweet from Louis Tomlinson to Harry Styles is taking over, beating out Obama's post as the runner-up.
