Watch Charli XCX's Live Punk-Rock "Shake It Off" Cover
Charli XCX's more known for her chart-burning pop songs—songs that often get played before and after "Shake It Off" on parties and pop stations.
But Charli's got a punk side, too, as she showed us with a recent cover of the Beatles/Barrett Strong hit "Money (That's What I Want)." Now she's brought her inner London jean-jacket badass to Taylor Swift's gigantic 1989 hit for BBC's Live Lounge. Charli's fellow Brits the Sex Pistols and the Clash would be proud.
Hear the blistering cover above, and notice how there's no "this sick beat" portion—maybe because Taylor Swift recently copyrighted the phrase and basically owns the soul of anyone who deigns to use it?
